A bit about us.

Well, I'm Nathan, she's Marisa, and we are the founders of Imagen Photography. Together we have built an awesome team of photographers and videographers. We are a young, cutting edge photography studio, offering the most recent advances in the photography field. We strive to stay well versed in the latest wedding trends and bridal preferences.  Realistically, Imagen Photography is just an outgoing group of young adults trying to make a living doing something we love, and our hope is that you fall in love with what we are doing!

Portrait Session: Xavier & Sarah

Well, its finally done.  Our new “home studio” is officially up and running!  One of the goals Marisa and I have set for Imagen this year is to do more portrait sessions, mainly to photograph more kids.  This is actually Marisa’s area of expertise, she luuvvves photographing children.

Monday night I finished setting up the lights in the studio, they were the final piece.  The backdrops were hung, the walls repainted, and now the lights are up were ready to fire!  I absolutely needed to photograph something, so I called up my sister and had her bring over my nephew Xavier.  Xavier is always a blast to photograph.  You can see from his photos, the kid has a TON of personality; and that is what I, as a photographer, love to capture.

Marisa and I are really excited to have this shooting space available all the time now that its in our home studio!  If you know anyone who needs some updated portraits of their children, tell them to give us a call!  Starting next week we will be booking portrait sessions (by appointment only) so if your interested or know someone who is, give us a call!  Also, we are now offering gift cards which make a great gift for any parent!

Documentary Photography 101

So I got kind of bored this winter and decided to take a photography class at Tri-C.  I signed up for Documentary Photography with the hope that I would be given shooting assignments that would keep me inspired and get me out in the field shooting new things.  So day 1 of class our teacher gives us our first assignment;  Self-Documentary.  You can imagine my excitement.  My life was so uneventful that I took a class to jazz it up a bit, only to be told to go document my already mundane life.  Well, 2 weeks into the class I am finding myself quite grateful for this assignment.  Already I am starting to realize there is a difference between mundane and boring.  I think we all get up each day and do the same routines; brush our teeth, shower, go to work, 9-5, head home, eat dinner, go to bed, start over the next day.  I guess when you don’t stop and pay attention to the small things that fill in the gaps of our lives, every day seems the same as the last.

Well the last 2 weeks I have been forced to notice the small things, the space in-between, and it has really given me a greater outlook on my everyday life.  I’m truly learning to find the beauty in the mundane and its been an incredible 2 weeks.

Anyways, here are a few more images from Boston along with a couple of other keepers from the last couple days.  I will be putting more images from my assignment on here periodically, so if you see some random images now you’ll understand.

Salem/Boston trip… Days 1 and 2

I came up to Salem, Mass to visit by good friend Mark Davison this weekend.  Mark just relocated his photography business to New England and this weekend he had a bridal show at the Bayside Expo Center.  Mark asked me to give him a hand at the show, so I came up here for a few days.  The show went well, Mark met a lot of brides and we met some really cool vendors! Saturday night we kicked it in the North End of Boston with Jacklyn of Jag StudiosKate Parker of MyKateParkerWedding.com, and Emily from www.emilykuphoto.com. Jacklyn is a really awesome photographer and KP is a planner with a great business mind… She created a really unique online service for brides to plan their weddings.  She currently doesn’t have a Cleveland division, but we are working together on changing that!

Anyways,  here are a few images from the first couple days of my trip… I was feeling the B/W today when editing these!

Wedding Videography: Bridget & Rick Highlight

We just finished up the highlight reel for Bridget & Rick today so I thought I would post it.  Also, a few months back we did a Love Story Video for the couple so I included that as well. Hope you enjoy!

Mustache Elves!

So a few weeks back we had that mustache party for Mark Davidson’s going away party. Well today Mark emailed me this awesome video!  Many of you have seen these Jib-Jab videos, and you can make them yourself really easily!  Click here if you want to check out the site.

Here’s the video Mark sent me!

Warren Ohio Wedding: Photography & Videography

A couple months ago I posted some photos from Sarah & Corey’s Wedding in Warren, Ohio.  The reception was held at The Avalon Inn in Warren, Ohio. The decor was pretty awesome, as always when Joe Mineo of Something New Events does the decorations! Anyways, we did the photography and videography for Sarah & Corey so we decided to make a little montage of the two.  Here it is! Hope you enjoy!

Hiram College Wedding: Highlight Video

A couple months ago we were out at Hiram College for Holly & Adam’s wedding.  I arrived and realized that the same make-up artist from Leigh & Brian’s wedding the week before was there again! Ramona Dauksiene, widely know as Ramona D, did a fantastic job with the make-up.  Holly and Adam planned an outdoor reception and the weather was absolutely perfect!  Imagen Photography did the photography and videography for their event, so we were able to do what we call a highlight montage.  Here is their montage, hope you enjoy!

Destination Wedding: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

So the last week of October I had the opportunity do a little traveling for a wedding.  The couple, Aga & Raf, found me on Facebook and next thing you know they flew me down to Punta Cana and I photographed their Destination Wedding!  It was an awesome experience working with Aga & Raf.  From the very first time we met I felt that we just kind of “clicked!”  Raf and I found common interest in race cars (what guy doesn’t love fast cars?), and Aga just turned out to be the sweetest little Canadian girl I have ever met! It was an awesome week.  On Monday I shot their wedding and reception, then on Wednesday we did a Trash-the-Dress.  Agnes didn’t go all the way into the ocean, but we had some fun on the beach.  Here are a few of the photos from the trip.

Mustache Party for Marky Mark

Many of you know my photographer friend, Mark Davidson. Well, tomorrow Mark is moving to Boston to start his career there as a wedding photographer.  Mark is an extremely talented photojournalist who has not only taught me a ton about photography, but also about being a good friend.  So, last night Marisa and I thought it would be fun to throw Mark a going away party at our newly renovated studio! After weeks of brainstorming and a bunch of ridiculous ideas we decided to make Mark’s party a Mustache Party.  We invited a bunch of friends including old high school buddies, some family, and a handful of other Cleveland Wedding Vendors!  We asked that every shows up with a ’stache, and the rest is history!  Marisa and I threw up a megabooth and took a bunch of hilarious photos.  Here are a few of my favorites!

My nephew Xavier & I. He was hilarious!

Best Wedding Photographer in Cleveland-Fox 8 Hotlist

Thanks to the many friends, clients, and family members who voted, Imagen Photography was nominated the Best Wedding Photographers in Cleveland! Marisa and I are so blessed to have won this after only our second year in business!  We are so thankful for our every one of our amazing clients!  Without you guys we are nothing!  We are also extremely grateful for our awesome team members!  You guys know who you are, Stephen, Mike O., Jason, Mark, Clifford, Micah, and Mike H.!  We love you guys and it is an absolute privilege and honor to have you guys on our team!

I know I speak for our entire team of photographers and videographers when I say we look forward to serving our clients even better in 2010! This was a great year for Imagen and we are so thankful for everything we have learned and accomplished!  Also this year Marisa and I have found an awesome group of friends in our Taco Tuesday group! As a young studio we have a lot to learn from some of the longer established photographers in Northeast Ohio.  It’s unbelievable the kind of support we get from what some would view as our direct competitors!  Whether I have questions about equipment or software, or just want to hang out and shoot the breeze till 2:30 am on a Tuesday night these guys have been there for me.  And guys, it really means a lot to me.  You all know who you are.

Thanks again to all of our voters!  To see the other finalists click below.

The Lewarchick's - Congrats guys - you deserve it! We had such a great time with all the photographers and videographers and the results even exceeded our already high expectations. We look forward to seeing you post your work through 2010. ~TJ and TammyNovember 25, 2009 - 1:17 pm
